This elegant two-bedroom, one-bath apartment, in the prestigious, safe 7th arrondissement boasts an unbeatable location with views that will make you swoon. It features a spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower (just 285 meters away) from the south terrace. Visit our webcam for a live picture of the tower, just as you would see it right now. From either terrace you have smashing views of the Invalides, with its gold dome glowing against the night sky, the Panthéon, Musée du Quai Branly, Sacré Coeur, the American Cathedral, the Tokyo Palace, and panoramic views out across the roofs of Paris in every direction. No matter where you are in the apartment the views are captivating.

Here is the floor plan. The apartment is approximately 41 square meters, PLUS the two large terraces that create the perfect indoor/outdoor environment via three sets of French doors that open onto them. These are not little balconies, they are large, true outdoor spaces with room to have dinner or a glass of wine as Paris is laid out in front of you. True terraces like these overlooking Paris are quite rare.
The apartment is on the top floor of a twentieth-century building on rue de l'Université, directly across the rue from the Musée du Quai Branly. It is privately owned by Pat & Frank Maloney, who live and work mostly in the United States. We purchased it in July 2007, and began renovations. By January 2008, it was complete. Truly an exceptional property, it has been fitted with the finest materials. Everything is new: hardwood floors throughout, a bathroom done entirely in Carrera marble, bamboo flooring on both terraces, silk draperies, satin baroque bedspread in one bedroom and French toile in the other, French doors and windows (with electric shutters) in the two bedrooms and the living-dining rooms leading to the terraces, a 42" plasma cable TV, high-speed wireless Internet, and wireless telephones. The apartment is fully air conditioned, but usually you will find it nicer to switch on the ceiling fans, and open the French doors onto the large, inviting terraces. There is always a strong breeze in nice weather and Parisian evenings are simply magical. The furnishings are a carefully combined mixture of antiques, new pieces and reproductions - all married harmoniously with taste and comfort in mind. Rich, elegant and enticing describe it best.
The living/dining room has French doors and windows on each end that open onto the terraces. The apartment is on the 9th floor, high above anything else around it, so the views are uninterrupted and truly spectacular, day and night. Since there are two terraces, one can choose between sun and shade all day. The terraces are furnished with tables and chairs to be fully enjoyed for meals or wine and cheese with the Eiffel Tower so close you can almost touch it. The living room also features a huge plasma television and cable with English channels. Telephone calls to the USA are free. We can also provide you with a French cellphone or two for your stay in Paris if desired. There is also a leather queen sofabed with a thick, comfortable mattress.
The master bedroom features a French queen bed with memory foam, glistening mirrors, paintings, a ceiling fan, and a large closet as well as French doors opening onto the south terrace with the incredible view of the Eiffel Tower.
The second bedroom contains a mirrored closet, windows on the north terrace, a ceiling fan, and a French daybed with a special mechanism that opens into twin beds or a king bed, both also featuring memory foam. When open, the bed takes up literally the entire width of the room so that it must be returned to its daybed status each morning in order to get to the room's large closet.
The bathroom is constructed entirely of Carrera marble and is reminiscent of a five-star hotel bathroom. It features a glass hydraulic shower door panel that lifts and then swivels out of your way.
The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave/convection oven, coffeemaker, toaster, utensils, pots and pans, bakeware: everything you need to cook a meal at home, all upscale of course. The china is Limoges, the crystal is French, the countertops are tile. The kitchen also contains a washer/dryer and a refrigerator.
The apartment is nicely situated with Metro, RER and bus routes easily accessible, carrying you to all of Paris. Only one block from the Seine and a 7 minute walk to the famous rue Cler markets, it is also surrounded by wonderful places to eat and shop. You can easily walk to the upscale shops of the avenue Montaigne on the other side of the Seine, or you can shop in style all throughout the district. The Musée D'Orsay is nearby, as is the Rodin Museum, the Invalides, the American Church and many other key sites of Paris. You will feel completely safe returning late at night. Not only is the area quite safe but the apartment is located on courtyards in both directions and in a separate building behind a double-door, electronically coded entrance system. The apartment sleeps six but is probably best suited for no more than five adults, or two adults and up to four children. We also own a studio apartment on the first floor. If your group needs more space, the additional sleeping and bathroom facilities are there for you.
Your host in Paris is a native Parisian, speaks English fluently, and is happy to give help you in finding whatever you need in the city. When you arrive at the apartment you are met and shown all the niceties of this really neat place. We can also arrange for a driver to pick you up at the airport and bring you to the apartment for very little more than the cost of a taxi. In fact, if your group is more than three, the cost of a private driver is about the same as that of a taxi, but you are met at the airport and brought directly to the apartment. And the apartment has a lift (elevator), so move in and move out are effortless.
